Chapter 68 took its awesome Steward Team of 13 to 2017 National Training this year at Saratoga Springs, NY. The training is intensive, and the expertise offered can be demanding, especially to newbies. There are multiple training tracks such as Leadership, Representation and Stewardship whereas the new steward learns an unprecedented variety of representational topics such as filing grievances, FMLA, privacy rights, legislation and so forth. The three day training session also forms a camaraderie spirit!
Have you ever needed help understanding leave policies, had a scheduling issue or simply had questions about legislative action? Your first call should be to NTEU.
Why? Because NTEU chapter leaders are skilled and ready to help, thanks to an unparalleled training program. Not only do they undergo annual training at the national level, Stewards and other chapter officers have local training on current issues they are facing. The good thing about it was that you could share your experience “war stories” ...
All of this goes to show why NTEU stewards are the best. They have the knowledge, support, skills and experience to solve problems and help you get involved in improving your work life. And as an NTEU member, they primed and ready to help—whenever, and wherever you need us.
